without at some point taking a look at McLuhan’s 
perspective. So in that sense, despite my cynicism 
and jaundice—I’m just a typical journalist who sees 
people close up, great people close up, and you see 
the feet of clay. But clearly he’s enduring, he went 
through a period of benign neglect, rather typical 
after his death, and he seems to be coming back 
strong. McLuhan stocks are up.
